Christopher Reaves says "A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles”. I truly think this is the perfect definition of Katniss Everdeen the protagonist in the hunger games. At a young age Katniss really was just an ordinary girl however she became an individual who found the strength to persevere and endure a lot of obstacles. “I was determined to feed us...I kept us alive” that was the way Katniss was everyday growing up after her father passed away in a coal mining accident. I believe that shows how an ordinary girl who came to be extraordinary by overcoming life’s obstacles’. A hero is someone we all want to be but very few really are and Katniss is one of them.
Good connection to the death of Katniss' father. This was definately the beginning of her heroic adventure. I would have liked you to tie the quote into the evolution of Katniss' character in her heroic adventure.
