harrisons song reviews

Harrison Yolland
Structures: at las[t]
And if you thought it was over then you
Better think twice. You've been given
Your last chance, now face the fucking
Avalanche. And who the fuck are you to
Say that we're just wasting time? There's
No need to look back as we approach the
Finish line. Can't stand side by side, if you
Can't face the fucking avalanche. We're
Standing on top at last. At last, you'll
Have to face the fucking avalanche.
Standing at the top of the world. At last,
Looking down from the top of the world.
At last. We feel alive.

This song describes the bands rise to fame and how they had to be so aggressive to do well. In the business they had to take the full on criticism of everybody and no matter what they said they just kept on pushing. Now being an extremely successful band and probably the youngest in there genre they have succeeded.

Bad religion: 1000 more fools
I heard them say that the meek shall reign on earth,
Phantasmal myriads of sane bucolic birth.
I've seen the rapture in a starving baby's eyes,
Inchoate beatitude, the Lord of the Flies.
So what does it mean when your mind starts to stray?
Kaleidoscoping images of love on the way.
Brother you'd better get down on your knees and pay.
1,000 more fools are being born every fucking day.
They try to tell me that the lamb is on the way,
With microwave transmissions they bombard us every day.
The masses are obsequious, contented in their sleep.
The vortex of their minds ensconsed within the murky deep.
So what does it mean when your mind starts to stray?
Kaleidoscoping images of love on the way.
Brother you'd better get down on your knees and pay.
1,000 more fools are being born every fucking day.

In this song it shows the hate of the band for the government and how it works. It shows how many mindless people grow up not know what its like to live  and how they just grow up band get a boring job to pay for money to get food so they can survive to make children and then there children begin the cycle all over again.

A day to remember: all I want
i'm always screaming my lungs out 'til my head starts spinning
Playing my songs is the way I cope with life
Won't keep my voice down
Know the words I speak are the thoughts I think out loud
I like to keep things honest
I'm a safe bet like your life's staked on it, for real
I'd hate to keep you all wondering
I'm constant like the seasons, I will never be forgotten man
Let's leave no words unspoken
And save regrets for the broken
Will you even look back when you think of me?
All I want is a place to call my own
To mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone
Whoa, you know to keep your hopes up high
And your head down low
Keep your hopes up high and your head down low
Still got something left to prove
It tends to keep things movin' while everyone around me says
My last days are looming overhead
But just what the hell do they think they know?
I keep my head above the water
While they drown in the undertow
Let's leave no words unspoken and save regrets for the broken
Will you even look back when you think of me?

All I want is a place to call my own
To mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone
Whoa, you know to keep your hopes up high
And your head down low
All I want is a place to call my own
To mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone
Whoa, you know to keep your hopes up high
And your head down low
If you take it from me, live your life for yourself
'Cause when it's all said and done, you don't need anyone else
C'mon!
So let's get back to when everything seemed perfect
Not a worry in the world, tell me was this all worth it?
I get what I want so everyone's always judging me
I'm not afraid of anything, I've got the whole world in front of me
All I want is a place to call my own
To mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone
Whoa, you know to keep your hopes up high
And your head down low
All I want is a place to call my own
To mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone
Whoa, you know to keep your hopes up high
And your head down low

This song shows no matter what happens you’ve got to always keep your hopes up high even if it means being quiet.  For example this band didn’t get to where they are today by hoping the end up a garage band. They may have never dreamed of headlining North America’s biggest alternative tour. But I can guarantee you they sure weren’t hoping to be rocking fifty people shows either.
